Sir Edward Grey, one of the best additions to the Hellboy Universe
Shawn S. - 6 years agoThis omnibus contains six stores and an extensive sketchbook which gives interesting notes about the various stories. The first story is just a short introduction to the character and honestly not that important or interesting. However the next story “In the Service of Angels” is where it starts getting good. Edward Grey’s strict Christianity colliding with the black magic around him makes for a compelling story. The side characters are memorable, and there are interesting tie ins to other Mignola works. The rest of the omnibus maintains the same level of intrigue and suspense as “In the Service of Angels,” however the standout story is “The Mystery of Unland.” It is a great Lovecraftian story that is greatly similar to “The Shadow Over Insmouth.” Any fan of Hellboy, Mignola, or horror comics should buy this.
